The new Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children’s Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital, named in honor of the late mother of Mayor Bloomberg, was carefully created by more than 70 artists from across the country and is now home to more than 500 works of art. The team of artists, architects, and curators worked with Bloomberg Philanthropies and Johns Hopkins to transform the concept of care and community using art, design, and functionality.
In addition to providing state-of-the-art care and amenities, the art featured in Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children’s Center creates a comforting environment for young patients and families that will enhance the healing process. Art can be found throughout the building and includes sculptures and works of art inspired by nature and classic children’s books.
